Police has in custody 3 suspects in connection with the possible suicide-turned-murder of an officer attached to the Counter Terrorism Police, Gateway News has learnt.
A 33 year old police constable Kawu Sadik force number 63741, was discovered dead lying in a pool of blood by another policeman along the beach at Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC) on Sunday Morning.

One police constable, Hudson Mugabi and 2 unidentified Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) game rangers were arrested on Monday to aid police in the ongoing investigation. The arrested were working night duty with the late Kawu.
Mugabi who discovered the deceased’s body said in his statement that Kawu disappeared from him at around 1am, one hour later he would hear gunshots but presumed it was the marine police pursuing subversive fishermen.
A preliminary report by the Scenes of Crime department revealed the deceased was discovered lying on his back with 6 bullet wounds (1 around his genitalia, 2 on his upper abdomen, 2 on his chest and two on his throat ), 9 cartridges were recovered from the scene. The report further states that he was found with his gun cocked facing his throat and in single shot mode.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Tuesday confirmed the incident, said investigations are underway into the possible suicide or murder of Kawu.
The fallen police constable, Sadik Kawu will be laid to rest today at his ancestral home in Budaka District. He is survived by one wife and 3 children.
