Uganda Cranes: Only two foreign-based players called for Emirates Trip

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has called 21 players ahead of two International build matches with AFCON bound countries in Gabon and Mauritania.

The only two foreign players are Chippa United’s custodian Ismail Watenga and SuperSportUnited midfielder Moses Waiswa who both play in South Africa.

The other surprise call is unattached forward Patrick Henry Kaddu who has been training with his mother club KCCA FC since making his return home.

“We are assembling the Uganda Cranes team that will competitive get engaged in several upcoming engagements as the TOTAL AFCON 2023 and TOTAL CHAN 2022 qualifiers. Such international build-up matches are a perfect measure for early preparations” Micho noted.

The rest of the 19 players are from the domestic league and will have to use this golden chance jealously to keep a permanent position in the Uganda Cranes fold.

Uganda Cranes is set for a trip to the United Arab Emirates where they will face Gabon on December 30 before they face off Mauritania on January 1, 2022, in Abu Dhabi.

The team is set to fly out of the country on December 29 and will return on January 2, 2022.
