SUPL: Vipers come from a goal down to beat BUL to maintain top of the table status

Vipers SC registered a 3-1 commanding victory against BUL FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe on Wednesday afternoon.

Najib Yiga’s brace and Yunus Sentamu’s goals were enough to white wash Walter Ochola’s opener as Vipers went four points clear on top of the log.

The first chance of the game fell to the visitors in the 15th minute as Bright Anukani’s header met Milton Karisa but his finishing header went slightly over the bar.

Five minutes later, Walter Ochora rose highest to not home a corner kick hence placing BUL FC in the lead.

In the 22nd minute, Najib Yiga levelled matter with sweat sublime low shot from outside the box to restore parity.

Moments later, Ceasor Manzoki nearly extended the lead but the towering striker failed to execute Karisa’s cross.

Three minutes past half an hour, Yiga was back at it tapping home Manzoki’s effort hence awarding Vipers a well-deserved lead.

Vipers came back for the second stanza hungrier than they looked in the first 45 minutes of the game.

Karisa perfectly chipped the ball to meet Manzoki in the area but the Congolese forward failed to convert the chance after his volleyed effort was saved.

With 16 minutes to play, Livingstone Mulondo stood tall and firm to deny Ibrahim Nsimbe whose effort nearly found the back of the net past the near post.

At the death of the game, second half substitute Denis Mwemezi picked out Yunus Ssentamu in the area and the forward perfectly placed it home.

In their next games, Vipers SC will host Arua Hill at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday February 12 while BUL will host Wakiso Giants at Kyabazinga Stadium on the same day.
