SUPL: Unlucky Bright Stars Tie A Knot With Dull Express

Bright Stars we’re held by Express in a 0-0 stalemate in the Star Times Uganda Premier at Kavumba Recreational Centre on Monday evening.

Bright Stars’ frustration continued as they dropped two points in a mouth watering encounter against the reigning league champions.

Six minutes into the game, Devis Omony failed to tap home Emmanuel Loki’s chipped effort from close range to deny the hosts from taking an early lead.

Three minutes later, Bright Stars’ pay forward Dennis Otim sent a powerful curled ball on goal but his effort was palmed away by Express cutodian Dennis Otim.

At half an hour mark, towering midfielder Fiat Cleophus tried a powerful effort from distance but this shot missed the target.

Minutes into the second stanza, George Ssenkaba created space in the penalty area to force a shot on goal but Tamale was quick to punch it out.

Joseph Janjali placed a through pass to meat Loki who effort past Otim hit the cross bar but Janjali’s header off the rebound went over the bar.

Youngster Isa Bugembe took a powerful freekick over the bar but Otim perfectly stretched to finger tip it out for a corner kick.

In the next fixture, Express FC will host Tooro United at BetWay Muteesa II Stadium on Friday February 11 while Bright Stars FC will hit the road to play SC Villa at Njeru on the same day.
