Gaddafi FC vs Onduparaka
Bright Stars vs Vipers SC
Tooro Utd vs Police FC
Onduparaka’s captain Mohammad Shaban has extolled the improvement staged by his teammates in the previous games.
The ‘Caterpillars’ will be making a long journey to Gaddafi FC at Gaddafi Arena, Jinja on matchday 12 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League as both sides seek to get back to winning ways.
In the previous games, the ‘Soldier Boyz’ suffered a 0-1 loss to the reigning league champions Express FC at Betway Muteesa II Stadium while Onduparaka were held by URA in a one-all draw at the Green Light Stadium.
“We have been working so hard to see that we correct our mistakes at least it is clear that day by day and match by match we are improving,” Shaban told the press in a pre-match conference.
“I am privileged to see the steps forward and I believe we are getting all three points from tomorrow’s game. I have a positive belief which we share as a team at large,” he added.
“However we need to understand that the game in Jinja will not be as easy as many view it. But we are going to give it all it takes to see that we get all three points,”
Shaban limped off the field of play in the game they played against the ‘Tax Collectors’ in Arua but the forward expressed readiness ahead of tomorrow’s encounter.
“Yeah I was substituted in the previous game due to a knock but it was minor. It was nothing big to keep me out for days. I think I am fit to play tomorrow’s game and also motivate my teammates so that we work together to get all three points,” he concluded.
Shaban will be so vital and needed if Onduparaka is to get a positive result from Jinja. The forward has managed four goals in the last five games and many are starting to say, ‘the forward is regaining his sharpness.’
On the other hand, Gaddafi’s head coach was quick to say the game is one they will play for their lives to see that they head into the festival season with smiles.
“As per the preparations ahead of tomorrow’s game, the team is highly prepared because its a game we are rating highly and we are going to play it with all our lives thrown out there,” he expressed.
“The approach is going to be different because we want a good result to take us into the Christmas weekend with success and that means getting maximum points,” he concluded.
