SUPL: SC Villa edge Mbarara City to boost relegation survival chances

SC Villa have boosted their hopes of relegation survival with a 2-1 win against Mbarara City on Tuesday evening.

Isaac Ogwang and Saddam Masereka scored for SC Villa while Mbarara City’s only goal was scored by Solomon Okwalinga at Fufa Technical Center in Njeru.

In the 30th minute, SC Villa survived a scare when Solomon Okwlainga had a free kick hitting the crossbar.

Mbarara City was at it again in the 40th minute when Sadat Nsubuga drew a good delivery from a corner kicks but it kissed the crossbar.

SC Villa went ahead in the 47th minute when Isaac Ogwang popped up the ball into the back of the net.

Two minutes later, Saddam Masereka doubled the Jogoos lead to make it 2-0 for the hosts following an assist from Isaac Ogwang.

Mbarara City pulled one back when Okwalinga stepped up to convert from the penalty kick in the 80th minute of the game.

Following the win, SC Villa is now 10th on the log with 28 points while Mbarara City is now 15th with 22 points.
