Gateway Entebbe Junior League (EJL) leaders Streamline Soccer Academy are now winless in 3 games in a row, their worst turn of form this term.
They are now forced to delay their coronation party, after suffering two draws on matchday 5, a one all draw against St Padre Pio and a 2-2 draw to Bulega Soccer Academy.
Streamline need only two wins to be confirmed EJL Champions, and remain 10 points clear of Taggy High at the helm of the log.
“We are now more enthused than ever to seal the title win,” Streamline Head Coach, Robert Tugume revealed
“I agree the boys have been sloppy today, but that’s what happens when you throw in a couple of new boys in the starting 9, but hopefully they will be able to form cohesion. I am happy we came from behind twice to salvage a point from both fixtures,” Tugume said
“Our focus is now on matchday 6, as we take on Waggagai and VT Soccer Academy, we are determined to go for maximum points and seal the title.” Tugume added
Meanwhile, Taggy High have been the most improved side so far this term, going unbeaten in 6 games, thanks to the goal-scoring exploits of their inform striker and captain Emmanuel Batambile, who has delivered 7 goals in 6 outings.
Batambile attributes his fine form to his industrious teammates. While speaking to Gateway News, he said that their focus is still on the title and hope they can still challenge table leaders Streamline.
However, Waggagai Warriors season is not going as expected after failing to get back to winning ways in the most recent games.
Regardless of dreadful form of late, Tactician Duncan Bwogere is confident that lessons from this season will prepare them for the next edition of the EJL.
“My players can still challenge for a better finish up on the table, we have used this season to prepare for the next one, we have brought in young players who will be here much longer than this year, we have really invested for the future.” Bwogere said
