The Entebbe Annual Corporate Sports League returned Sunday (October 23, 2022) for the third outing.
National Agriculture Research Organisation (NARO) remains on top of matters after raking up stellar action when the corporate league played out once again at the Lake Victoria Primary School playground, but however remain tied on points with DAS Handling but separated by a five goal difference.
Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) Management fall to third regardless of winning 3 games on day 3, their Operations counterparts are behind in fourth by only one point.
Police seemed to be in spirited form after completing a double over Entebbe Journalists Association (EJA) and went on to beat Entebbe International CC 2 goals to 1.
Fresh Perch and Skynet Worldwide Express lost all fixtures after failing to show up directly forfeiting their scheduled fixtures sending them to 11th and 13th respectively.
According to league chairman, Ronald Onzima, the league is moving smoothly and on course as planned. “Challenges can never be avoided, we are still moving as planned, the turn up is amazing. It is a great opportunity to keep our people healthy and fit as we rejuvenate our environment,” he said.
The 13-team league is comprised of clubs from organizations and institutions both private and public within the Entebbe periphery.
The Entebbe Annual Coporate League started as a one day sports gala years ago, but returned after a forced two-year COVID-19-induced hiatus.
Proceeds from the league are to fund a campaign geared toward protecting the environment and regreening Uganda’s first capital, Entebbe.
