BUL’s forward Karim Ndugwa is delighted of the fatherly love and care that he has received from coach Alex Isabirye since joining the Jinja based side.
After one and a half years without active soccer, Ndugwa returned to the beautiful game replacing Musa Esenu who switched to Rwandan outfit Rayon Sport FC.
While talking to Gateway News, Ndugwa noted that his fine form is attributed to his dear coach Isabirye.
“My greatest source of confidence at BUL has been the coach (Isabirye),” Ndugwa said before adding ; “Having worked together before has helped us create a bond that has guided me in different aspects of my game.”
The former Wakiso Giants forward underlined how difficult it is to join a good team in a mid season transfer.
“It is always hard to join a team in the mid season more so when it has been performing well because the expectations are high but Isabirye helped me settle psychologically,”
“ However, the freedom hardly kept me in my comfort zone but it only sent a warning that I should surprise as well as reward him (Isabirye) with hard work and sharpness infront of goal.” he added.
“As time went on he made me an off the pitch captain. This has helped me share my experience with the teammates and I feel at home because we are one big family,” he concluded.
Ndugwa says that he has a target of 10 goals this season and four of those have already been scored while donning the yellow and green jersey.
His first goal came against Arua Hill before he bagged a brace against Busoga United in the Uganda Cup while the fourth was a solo against UPDF.
The oil manufacturers lie in the fourth position with 33 points after 19 games played.
In their next game, BUL will travel to Kavumba Recreational Grounds as they face Bright Stars on Friday March 11, 2022 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Am sure he will perform more classy than now
