Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) has confirmed a final 15- man squad that will represent the Pearl of Africa in the 2022 International Cricket Council (ICC) U-19 World Cup in the West Indies.
The panel of National Selectors was led by Nehal Bidodi and by the end of the process they had zeroed down on a team they believe will bring home victory.
Uganda will move into the prestigious tournament having won the ICC U-19 World Cup Africa Qualifiers that were held in Kigali, Rwanda during the month of September.
The Baby Cricket Cranes will be making their third appearance at the junior global tournament having made the first in 2004 before they bounced back in 2006.
There is only one addition to the other 14 players who were part of the triumph in Rwanda. The latest addition to the team is Edwin Nuwagaba (off spining all rounder) who will be looking for his national debut.
Pascal Murungi and Ismail Munir will take over the leadership roles in capacity of captain and vice captain respectively.
The World Cup in West Indies will kick off on January 3 and will run till February 4.
Uganda are posted in Group B alongside India, South Africa and Ireland.
Before the showdown, Uganda will play three practice games against Sri Lanka, Scotland and Ireland to boost and build confidence of the lads.
