USSSA Games 2022: Kibuli Meet Kitende In Hair Raising Semi-final

Record champions Kibuli Secondary School (11 titles) will play St. Mary’s Kitende (9 titles) in the breathtaking USSSA National Games semifinals of the ongoing campaign in Arua.

Kibuli SS beat tournament hosts Mvara SS 3-1 in an entertaining show that left fans wishing for the same show.

Kibuli SS captain Faizal Wabyona tapped home from close range after Mvara SS custodian Hudson Omuvuru fumbled with the ball.

Two minutes later, Mvara were awarded a penalty which was capitalised on by Jericho Micheal to level matters.

In the 15th minute, Dominic Ayella smartly placed the ball past Omuvuru to give Kibuli a well-deserved lead.

Ayella could easily score more before the break but the agile forward was unlucky even after putting up a golden show.

Five minutes into the second stanza, the best player of the day, Allan “Kanyakole” Owachigiu beat his marker to pace before he placed the ball past the near post.

In the opening game of the day, defending champions Kitende registered a sounding victory beating Mukono Kings High School at Greenlight Stadium.

Elvis Ngonde opened the scoring account before Habib Oloya’s well crafted brace.

As the second stanza came to an end, defender Rogers Torachi went for power from a freekick and Mukono Kings custodian was left frozen.

Shafic Mudholo’s charges failed to capitalise from the boast gained after they had eliminated Royal Giants on the finals.

In the next Quarterfinal games, Kawempe Muslim will take on Buddo SS while Jinja SS play against debutants St. Andrew Kaggwa.
