Ugandan body builder wins gold

Ugandan body builder Yakub Bin Hassan has won gold in the just concluded 2022 Men’s Physique Body Building Championship in Durban, South Africa.

The event featured participants from Kenya, Ghana, Mozambique Nigeria, Uganda and hosts, South Africa.

Uganda’s 75kg Yakub Bin Hassan was declared winner of the Men’s Physique body building championship 2022, followed by south Africa’s William Okek as the 1st Runner-up and Kenya’s Abdul trailing in third place.

After his triumph, Yakub said that he is now focusing on resuming training a head of the African championships slated for December, 2022.
“I am humbled for the gold medal. The men’s Physique body building championship is manifestation that Hard work actually pays, I am now focusing on resuming training as I prepare for the African championships which will take place in December. I thank my bosses from Afro Park Hotel for the support; Moral, physical and financial, we wouldnt be celebratinh this triumph had it not been their unwavering support,” said Yakub.
They recommended me and fully sponsored my travel to South Africa,” he added.

The former Mr Kampala started the Body Building sport in 2012. He reached the prime of his career after clinching the Mr Physique category during the Mr Kampala contest in 2021.

He hosts a vast international experience and exposure which he commenced in 2018 when he took part in the Ghana Body Building Championship.
