SUPL: Wakiso Giants edge BUL in seven goal thriller

Wakiso Giants started the year 2022 on a high note following a hard-fought 4-3 victory against BUL FC on Tuesday evening.

Ibrahim Kazindula (2) and Ibrahim Nsimbe scored for BUL FC while Moses Aliro (2), Ivan Bogere, and Tom Masiko were on target for Wakiso Giants in the mouthwatering encounter played at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.

Ibrahim Kazindula put BUL FC in the driving seat in the 17th minute when he shook the net from a freekick.

Moses Aliro leveled the matters for Wakiso Giants in the 37th minute after a good interplay in the area.

Four minutes later, Ivan Bogere made it 2-1 for the Purple Sharks from the penalty spot after a foul on him by BUL FC custodian Saidi Ken.

Ibrahim Nsimbe then equalized for BUL FC in the 64th minute to it 2-2 for the visitors.

In the 75th minute, BUL FC got a penalty after foul play on Reagan Kalyowa in the forbidden area. Kazindula stood up for the penalty and he made no mistake to shake the net once again to make it 3-2 for BUL FC.

Three minutes later, Aliro equalized for Wakiso Giants once again with a beauty inside the area to complete his brace to make the game 3-3.

In the 85th minute, Wakiso Giants finally got a winning goal through Tom Masiko from the penalty after a handball in the area. Masiko stood up for the challenge and made it 4-3 for the Purple Sharks.

A win moved Wakiso Giants to 24 points in the sixth position while BUL FC is now fourth on the log with 25 points.
