Sierra Leone head coach John Keister has revealed that he has received death threats before naming his squad to play in the African Cup of Nations.
The Manchester-born reported to Police that he had received two death threats that were accompanied by forcing him to include two players in his 28-players squad.
“Whatever walk of life you are in nobody deserves that,” Keister told BBC Africa before adding; “It is very sad that it has to come to this.”
“I do not think it should get to the point where my life is being threatened because people feel players should be in the squad and if they are not, this is what they are going to do.”
“We have come a long way so there is no reason for the death threats. I have got a family, I look after these boys and I have a job to do.”
“It gets me angry and where I have come from and my background, I feel there is something I need to do about it. Regardless of the job, I strongly need to do something,” he concluded.
