Ceaser Manzoki scored a brace as Vipers SC sailed past Gadaffi FC with a 2-0 victory on Wednesday evening at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Manzoki scored in both halves as the Venoms edge closer to the 2021/2022 StarTimes Uganda Premier League victory.
Vipers SC had the first shot on goal when Bright Anukani prodded on target but the ball is headed away for a corner in the 10th minute of the game.
One minute later, the Venoms took the lead through Cesar Manzoki who slotted the ball home to make it 1-0.
In the 35th minute, Vipers had a good combination play between Cesar Manzoki, Allan Kayiwa and Bright Anukani, but the final pass was intercepted near the Gaddafi goal.
Allan Kayiwa almost made it 2-0 in the 42nd minute with a long shot but it was punched away by goalkeeper Ronald Mutebi.
In the 56th minute, Paul Mucureezi and Allan Kayiwa had a good combination but the final ball was inches wide.
Manzoki finally made it 2-0 in the added minutes of full time when he tapped in the ball beyond goalkeeper Ronald Mutebi following a good cross from Denis Mwemezi.
Vipers have now moved to 61 points from 25 games 14 points ahead of second-placed KCCA FC.
Elsewhere, BUL FC played to a one-all stalemate with KCCA FC while Bright Stars won 1-0 against Wakiso Giants.
