UPDF FC held SC Villa to a goalless draw in the Star-Times Uganda Premier League at Bombo Barracks grounds, Luwero.
Both sides had relatively equal possession however UPDF had a slightly better game though all they managed to get was only a point.
The game started with a sloppy pace till the 15th minute when Villa’s forwards created enough space to keep the hosts on the back feet.
With six minutes to play, Sadam Masereka ignited a counter-attack before he passed the ball to Goffin Oyirwoth whose effort was blocked by UPDF’s defender Jacob Okao.
There was less to report about in the second stanza as both sides tried to penetrate the middle park but because of the fair challenge it ended squared.
Villa’s poor results on the road continue, they have managed only one win, three stalemates and four losses from the away fixtures during the ongoing league.
The result keeps UPDF in the ninth position with 20 points while Villa are 10th with 16 points after playing 16 games.
In the next fixtures, SC Villa will host Bright Stars at Njeru on Friday February 11 while UPDF vist wounded Police FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Thursday.
