SC Villa registered a 4-0 victory against Tooro United in Matchday 13 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Monday evening.

Salim Abdallah, Nicholas Kabonge, Benson Muhindo, and Goffin Oyirwoth were on the scoresheet to ensure SC Villa earned a consecutive win for the first time in the ongoing campaign.

Right from the start of the game, SC Villa showed great hunger and urge to take the lead. They attacked with an enormous tempo and pressed highly whenever they lost possession.

Salim placed the hosts in the lead with only nine minutes into the game, Gavin Kizito’s cross into the area caused havoc and the midfielder slotted it in the roof of the net from close range.

Oscar Mawa had a clear-cut chance to extend the lead after meeting Kabonge’s cross that had already gone past Tooro’s custodian Kenneth Lukyamuzi but defender Apollo Kagogwe made a timely interception.

With five minutes to the end of the first stanza, Nicholas Kabonge tapped home Mawa’s low cross to award the Jogoos a first-half lead.

On the return of the second half, Tooro United grew in stature and forced SC Villa onto their back foot though Kenneth Semakula and Gift Fred stood strong to ensure sanity at the back.

Hussein Mwanje rose highest to nod a freekick coming from the right flank but Martin Ssenkoto parried it away to keep his clean sheet intact.

In the 54th minute, Isaac Ogwang sent a shot on goal but it kissed the outside of the left post and it was his last action before he was replaced by Benson Muhindo.

In the 83rd minute, Muhindo was brought down in the area and he stepped up to convert from the spot.

Goffin Oyirwoth came on late to place the ball at the far post at the death of the game. The crowd went in excitement after Petrous Koukouras’ charges had staged the best show of the term.

The win carried Villa to the ninth position with 15 points while Tooro sit at the bottom of the 16-team log with four points after 13 games played.
