SUPL: Onduparaka-KCCA Replay Ends Squared

Onduparaka and KCCA’s replay fixture ended in a 1-1 draw in the Star Times Uganda Premier League at Bombo Grounds on Thursday February 3, 2021.

The Caterpillars kicked off the encounter on the fore foot but their early pressure in search for an opener yielded nothing apart from close chances.

In the 17th minute, Dennis Iguma perfectly hit Brian Majwega’s corner kick into the back of the net to send KCCA in the lead.

After half an hour Ronald Mubiru made a fast run on the right win beating his marker Herbert Achai but his cross to Emmanuel Okech was put to waste after missing the target.

With seven minutes to finish the first stanza of the game, defender Filbert Obenchan nodded in his own net past custodian Benjamin Ochan to level matters at Bombo.

On the return of the second stanza, Shaban Mohammad found the back of the net but the assistant referee raised the flag calling for an offside.

Two minutes later, Shaban made a good run into the area but missed to tap home Baden Mujahid’s we’ll delivered cross.

Two to the top of the hour, Onduparaka failed to place the ball in the back of the net once again but custodian Benjamin Ochan parried away the effort.

KCCA bossed the last minutes of the game pressing onto Onduparaka’s goal but the custodian Micheal Kagiri was at his best keeping his goal posts safe.

KCCA remains second on the 16-team log with 32 points while Onduparaka are placed 13th with 14 points after 15 games in the ongoing league.

In the next fixtures, KCCA will host URA at MTN Omondi Stadium on Wednesday February 9 while Onduparaka will visit Tooro United on Tuesday.
