Onduparaka head coach, Dudu Bosco is optimistic ahead of the tight contested West Nile Derby against Arua Hill SC.
The Caterpillars will host noisy neighbours, Arua Hill at the Green Light Stadium on Friday May 7, 2022 in the evening encounter.
“This is one of the most important games of Onduparaka and we are ready,” Dudu said in the pre-match conference.
“Throughout the week the talk in the town (Arua) has been about the West Nile Derby. It presents us the best opportunity to develop our game,” he added.
“As a region, we want West Nile to be the best in Uganda but that can only be achieved if Onduparaka is the best team in the country.”
According to the calm speaking tactician, the derby will sieve and set the squad which will play for the Caterpillars next season.
“We call upon the fans to leave all the negative talks roaming around but rather let football win so that they can give Uganda the best ‘Derby’,” he concluded.
On the other hand, Arua Hill SC assistant captain, Gadafi Wahab has expressed composure and noted that the players feel normal ahead of the big game.
“We feel normal, of course it is a derby and it will have a lot of tension but as players we are not under pressure but rather planning to follow the coach’s instructions. It is just a normal game like any other and we shall go to it with maximum attention,” he emphasised.
The two sides have met once in a game that ended in a goalless stalemate at Barifa Stadium on October 26, 2021.
Onduparaka FC sits eighth with 34 points after 27 games while Arua Hill SC are fifth with 46 points with three games to play in the current campaign.
