KCCA FC moved within a point of the Uganda Premier League top spot following their win against Onduparaka.
The Kasasiro Boys have piled pressure on Vipers with a 3-1 victory at home against Onduparaka FC on Saturday evening.
Herbert Achai, Usama Arafat and Hassan Jurua scored for KCCA FC while Baden Mujahid scored Onduparaka’s consolation goal.
It took a moment of brilliance from Achai to open the scoring in the 35th minute as the defender curled home a freekick at the edge of the box after Davis Mayanja fouled Ashraf Mugume at the edge of the area.
KCCA FC’s second goal came at the hour mark with Usama Arafat pouncing onto a rebound after Davis Kasirye had been foiled by Michael Kagiri.
Mujahid pulled one back for the visitors to ensure a tense finale in the 84th before Jurua netted the goal of the day as he fired in from over 35 yards to seal victory for the hosts.
The victory took KCCA to 39 points, one behind leaders Vipers SC who managed just a point away to UPDF FC on Friday.
Meanwhile, Onduparaka remained 12th with 17 points just one point above the relegation zone.
