Wakiso Giants FC head coach Alex Gitta has praised his players following a hard fought win at UPDF FC.
Gitta pointed out strong mentality as one of the reasons behind the victory.
Rahmat Ssenfuka scored Wakiso Giants’ only goal ten minutes from time courtesy of Moses Aliro’s assist.
“It was a tough game but the boys played with a positive mentality throughout,” Gitta said.
“Besides, we were very compact in midfield and that helped us have full control of proceedings,” he added.
The two sides will meet again in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 and Gitta believes the win on Tuesday gives his Purple Sharks a psychological advantage.
“It will be another game in another competition but I believe the win in the league gives the team confidence and a mental edge coming into the cup game.”
The win at UPDF moved Wakiso Giants to sixth on the log with 33 points in 21 games.
