Stanbic Uganda Cup: ‘We are determined to defend our championship’ – Byaruhanga

Vipers SC midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga claims that they are determined to defend the Stanbic Uganda Cup title ahead of their game against Mbarara City.

The Venoms travel to Mbarara on Wednesday May 11th to face Mbarara City at Kakyeka stadium in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

“We are grateful to have reached the semifinals level and we are ready for tomorrow’s game against Mbarara City,” Byaruhanga said before adding.

“As players we are determined to go out to tomorrow’s game and win and to defend our championship.”

“All players are ready to make it happen,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Kitende based side head coach Robert ‘Robertinho’ Oliveira claims that Mbarara City is not an easy side but his side’s target is to make to the finals.

“Mbarara City is a strong team which is always hard to pick results from their home. I’ll base on my team’s experience to get results from them & seal the business at Kitende,” Robertinho said.

“Our target is reaching the final and win the trophy,” he added.

The second leg will be at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, seven days after the first encounter.

Vipers eliminated Kigezi HomeBoyz FC, Kalongo United FC, Kataka FC and Wakiso Giants FC enroute to the semi-finals.
