Masaza Cup 2022: Buddu, Mawogola face off in opening fixture

Buddu and Mawogola will kickstart the 2022 edition of Masaza cup

The 2022 edition of the Masaza cup will kickstart on 25th June as defending Champions Buddu hosts Mawogola in group B.

The Kabaka of Buganda kingdom, HRM Ronald Muwenda Mutebi ll will grace the opening of the competition at Masaka Recreation grounds.

Meanwhile on the same day, the Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga will officially launch the competition.

Buddu were declared champions of the Masaza cup in the previous edition after proving to be a stronger team than Buwekula as they faced off in the final.

The team is underthe stewardship of Steven Bogere with Andy Ssali as his assistant triumphed to their second Masaza Cup trophy with a 2-0 win.

Mawogola on the other side put in place Michael Kabali as their head coach, replacing Jamadah Magaasi who coached the previous editions.

Micheal Kabali will work together with former Express FC and Tooro United captain Steven Luswata. For Luswata though it will be his first time for football management.
