Kibirige highlights calmness to spur SC Villa past Vipers

SC Villa captain and goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige highlighted the need for his teammates to keep calm in the game against Vipers SC.

Petros Koukouras’ charges will trek to St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, to play against Vipers SC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Wednesday.

The encounter climaxes the fifteen games that should be played in the first of the ongoing league.

“We have to keep calm and showcase our talents if we are to get maximum points because this is a normal game like others,” Kibirige revealed to SC Villa media

“But we can not afford to lose any point tomorrow because we want to finish the round on a positive note and that can be achieved if we win Vipers,” he added.

“This game was supposed to be played way earlier but it was pushed because of unavoidable reasons. So after a month of rest, we can not give any excuse.”

“The players look stronger and well-motivated. Even those that had moved for International duty are back which makes it a full squad ready to compete.”

Commenting about the rivalry between the two sides, Kibirige was quick to say it only makes the players better by creating stiff competition.

“We are used to the rivalry between the two clubs but instead of creating pressure, it only makes us better because we push to perform at the big stage,” he summed.

To the Jogoos, Kibrige called the 12th player to turn up in big numbers because with them the players feel stronger and safer.

In the last five meetings, Villa has managed two wins as much asthe Venoms and shared spoils once.

However, Villa’s recent two wins from the fixture have come at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende the same place that will host tomorrow’s encounter.
