SUPL: URA whitewash dull Bright Stars

URA FC easily registered a 3-0 win against dull Bright Stars in the Star Times Uganda Premier League at Kavumba Recreational Grounds on Tuesday.

Viane Ssekajugo opened the party before Steven Dese Mukwala bagged a brace thanks to Bright Stars laziness under coach Paul Kiwanuka’s reign.

Viane Sekajugo found the most clinical chance of the game after beating his mark Isa Bugembe but his effort after slipping down was comfortably connected by Simon Tamale.

Five minutes later Saidi Kyeyune was awarded a free-kick steps away from the box arc but his low effort went wide past the right goal post.

In the 26th minute, Sekajugo won possession from Methodius Jungu before he passed by two defender before he curled the ball in the back of the net to give the visitors the lead.

Seven minutes into the second stanza Ssekajugo’s rebound from close range was parried away by Tamale from close range.

Five minutes later, Mukwala benefited from Tamale’s mistake who failed to hold the ball and the striker hardly made a mistake in the penalty area.

At the death of the game, Allan Katwe passed a shot ball to Tamale that was stolen away by Mukwala who iced the win with a third goal of the day.

The result ascends URA FC in the fifth position with 25 points six behind table leaders KCCA FC while Bright Stars sit 14th with 11 points after 15 games.
