The Katabi Town Council leadership hosted the Muslim community to a sumptuous iftar banquet ahead of Eid celebrations.
The dinner held at the town council offices attracted over 1000 people including Political heads, government officials, and Muslim Clerics among others.
Katabi Town Council boss, Ronald Kalema urged Muslim clerics to indulge their congregants in the benefits of unity, peace and prosperity.
“We need to focus on making the best out of Ramadan, our people need to understand the value of working together in harmony to better our communities.” Kalema revealed
East Buganda Muslim head, Sheikh Mustafa Lule said he was elated by the town council’s endeavors to share Ramadan blessings with the Muslim fraternity.
Meanwhile in Entebbe Municipality, Nile Humanitarian Agency together with the Divison A LCV Councilor Sherry Kalyebara delivered relief items to Muslim female-headed households.
Relief items including foodstuffs were delivered to over 70 families in the area to enable them to celebrate Ramadan and Eid festivities. Kalyebara said they identified families with the “utmost need” in the Municipality.
“Each woman here presents an entire household that depends on them. With our fellow area leaders and Muslim leadership, we found it to be important to set them running this season given the increase in prices of commodities.” Kalyebara said
Nile Humanitarian Agency Spokesperson, Kassim Kalozi revealed that they hope to continue supporting those in need across the country.
“Everyone deserves a helping hand and we are happy to help those in need. We have been able to identify our recipients through the political leadership and they have done a commendable job.” Kalozi said
