Exclusive: Manzoki Inks One-year Extension At Vipers

Uganda Premier League (UPL) champions Vipers SC has finally won the battle to keep Ceasor Lobi Manzoki at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

As rumours and uncertainties about the forward’s future rose, Vipers SC was working tooth and nail to renew the sporting relationship with the lanky forward.

A source close to the Vipers camp added that Manzoki has been impressed by the sounding squad boast that is happening at Kitende.

“Manzoki has signed a year extension and he will play for Vipers next season,” a source that preferred anonymity confirmed.

“Like any other player, Manzoki wants to be in the best team but it’s now clear that Vipers are the best team in Uganda and this means a lot to him,” the source narrated.

“Since his (Manzoki) arrival he has worked hard to prove to doubters that he is top quality and continental football seems the latest test on his table.”

“So he will love to continue writing the mesmerising story like he has continuously echoed,” the source concluded.

Manzoki had a splendid 2021/22 campaign that saw him score 18 goals to help Vipers win their fifth title with five games to play.

Shortly after the season, he bagged five awards during the 2022 Pilsner End of Season SUPL Awards ceremony that was held at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo.

He was announced the season Most Valuable Player (MVP), Player’s player of the season, Forward of the season, Playmaker of the season as well as the Top Scorer.

With such achievements the player attracted attention from teams like Tanzania outfits Simba SC and Young African as well as Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman.

The other players that have extended their stay at Kitende are Milton Karisa and Yunus Sentamu.

Vipers SC continue with Pre-season preparations, they are set t play against Young African SC in an international friendly on Saturday August 6, 2022.
