Drugs intercepted at Entebbe International Airport

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) revealed Tuesday security had intercepted a consignment containing suspected drugs on Monday, 13th June 2022.

The narcotic substance suspected to be methamphetamine was detected during screening. It had been disguised as coffee samples for export.

According to a tweet made on Tuesday, the consignment was destined for Auckland, New Zealand and the shipper’s details bore a Ugandan name.

The Authority said the matter was handed over to Police for further investigations.
