Ugandan wonderkid Claus Rebh Kagimu has joined Scottish youth football setup, Sons of Struth Football Academy (SOS). The academy announced the development via their official Facebook page over the weekend.
“Claus Kagimu joined our 2007 team tonight. Young Claus has been looking for a club after recently moving to Scotland from Uganda.” the post reads. “Claus has already got some Scottish connections as his family are friends with ex Ranger Bobby Williamson who was the Ugandan national manager for 5 years. Bobby will no doubt visit to check on Claus’s progress when he’s in Scotland.“
The academy also revealed they were excited to add Kagimu to their “ever increasing African contingent”. Kagimu becomes the first Ugandan player to sign for the SOS.
The 14-year-old agile forward has recently featured for another Scottish outfit Cambuslang Yellow colts FC where he has been in excellent form.
The youngster has been through the ranks at Uganda Youth Soccer Academy (UYSA) where he earned attention of top Ugandan sides before moving to the United Kingdom. Kagimu is praised for his goal scoring prowess, pace and towering physique.
Kagimu will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of other SOS academy players that have joined Rangers FC through the youth system.
The Glasgow based academy has a number of junior grassroots football teams which play in the Paisley Johnstone and District Youth Football League.
