Ayub Khalifa’s charges are set to face Ghana in the fourth round of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women World Cup qualifiers and the first leg will be played at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday, January 22, 2021.
While speaking to the official website of FUFA, Kunihira noted that they have spent a good time together which has enabled them to fully prepare for the duel ahead.
“We have been in the camp for a week now and what I can say is that everyone is committed towards the game against Ghana,” Kunihira revealed.
“The coached have tried their best to work on our fitness since we entered the camp and we are ready for the task ahead.”
Kunihira has been so instrumental in the journey pushing Uganda this far, she has so far registered two goals and several assists on her name.
“We respect the fact that Ghana has been to the World Cup but that does not scare us at all. As players, we have the belief and confidence that we can overcome them,” she concluded.
To reach the final edition that will be hosted in Costa Rica, Uganda will have to overcome Ghana before they play the winner between Ethiopia and Tanzania.
