UPL: Maroons Fight Till Late To Stop Vipers

It was mixed reactions at the Prison Grounds, Luzira as Maroons FC fought to level Vipers SC in the last minute.

Nicholas Kigozi’s late effort ensured the hosts pick a point while Vipers lose two in the Startimes Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.

Vipers’ goals were scored by Milton Karisa while Maroons came from behind twice through Fred Amaku and Kigozi.

The visitors look the lead through Karisa who calmly placed the ball in the back of the net after being set up by Bright Anukani.

Maroons responded through Amaku after completing a well-structured attack.

In the 70th minute, Karisa reclaimed their lead through a volley that ignited the visiting fans who had run out of venom.

In added minutes, Vipers slept on the job and Kigozi tapped home Darius Ojok’s delivery to tie the knot.

The result takes Vipers to 29 points in the fourth position while Maroons are now sixth with 27 points.

In the next games, Vipers will host Blacks Power on Saturday, April 8 while Maroons will visit Blacks Power 10 days later.
