Milton Karisa forced Derrick Were to direct the ball into his net as Vipers edged UPDF in a 1-0 victory at Bombo Barracks Ground.

In the third minute, Karisa gave the visitors a lead as Were punched the ball into his net to start on the best of notes.

Abubaker Lawal came close with a low hard shoot but UPDF defender Christopher Kawagu cleared his lines.

In the second stanza, the hosts took charge piling more pressure on the Vipers’ defense but were not fully clinical.

Enock Luyima set up Karisa but the pacy forward failed to direct his effort on target.

When everyone thought Badru Nsimbe had leveled matters, Hillary Mukundane was in the right place to clear his lines.

After the final whistle, UPDF remains 12th with 22 points while Vipers are third with 35 points.
