UFL 2022: MUBS to face neighbours Kyambogo in the quarterfinal

Makerere University Business School (MUBS) will face noisy neighbours, Kyambogo in the last eight after the quarterfinal draw of Pepsi University Football League was held today morning.

The eight teams were put in two pots, A and B. Pot A had the teams that topped their groups and Pot B had two table leaders and the other two were the best second-placed sides.

MUBS had a perfect run at group stages winning all their games to collect a maximum of 18 points in Group B.

While Kyambogo also topped group C with seven points. However their clash against Kyambogo is tipped to be thrilling due to the distance between the two institutions.

In the other fixture, defending champions, Uganda Christian University (UCU) will take on Nkumba University who were best second place from Group B.

In the same spirit last season’s overall third-placed side Bugema University will take on high sprinted Uganda Martyrs University that have looked a decent team.

Kampala University (another best second placed in Group E) will lock horns with St. Lawrence that topped Group D to sum up the right team menu.

The Nakawa-based side and Kampala University have won the championship twice while UCU, UMU and Kyambogo have won it apiece and will be fighting to increase the tally.

The quarterfinal games will be played between September 14 to October 5, 2022.
