At approximately 2 pm on Tuesday, a fire outbreak was reported at Entebbe International Airport in the passenger terminal building.
Initial reports indicated that the fire paralyzed operations at the airport for about an hour leading to a stampede.
The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has issued an official statement to elucidate the “minor” fire incident.
“Passengers and all other users of Entebbe airport were immediately evacuated as the UCAA rescue and fire-fighting services team handled the situation,” the statement read
Vianney Luggya, the UCAA Public Relations Manager, revealed that the cause of the fire is being investigated and no casualties were reported.
