FUFA Big League: Ndejje University earn first league win against Calvary

Ndejje University registered a 2-0 deserved to win against Calvary FC in the StarTimes FUFA Big League at the Arena of Visions, Ndejje on Tuesday.

Samuel Nsubuga and Reagan Mpadde registered their names on the scoresheet to give Ndejje their first win of the season having lost 3-2 to MYDA FC.

Calvary FC started away with a glimpse of attacking shows in the opening half, as the hosts stayed calm and composed to control the pace.

As the game grew, the atmosphere at the stadium got hotter thanks to the high amounts of possession covered by Ndejje University keeping Calvary on the receiving end.

In the 34th minute, Samuel Nsubuga beat his marker in the middle of the park before he released a powerful effort to give Ndejje University a well-deserved lead.

A few minutes later, Ndejje were unable to extended their lead their effort failed to find the bulls-eye by a whisker.

Calvary struggled in holding possession and hardly would they weave more than five passes without losing the ball which exposing their lack of composure.

On the return of the second half, Calvary looked a better side than Ndejje University who was forced to commit more bodies in the defensive areas.

Paul Onyu staged great stints of trickery that gave Ndejje University’s defence a hard time to mark the first man on the right-wing.

With six minutes to play, Jackson Wabuleta made that awarded Ndejje possession in the dangerous box and Regan Mpadde tapped home the ball from close range to double the lead.

In the next fixtures, Ndejje University will travel to Luziira in a match against Maroons, while Calvary FC will host Blacks Power at the Greenlight Stadium, Arua on November 28, 2021.
