Bomb Blast injures five Children in Lamwo

Five child refugees sustained injuries in a suspected grenade explosion in Palabek Refugee Settlement in Lamwo District on Saturday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, the victims (all siblings) were all rushed to a Health Centre facility within the settlement before being transferred to Kitgum Hospital where they are still receiving treatment.

Eyewitnesses also allege that one Kok is responsible for the explosion following a misunderstanding between him and Anyak (the older of the five children).

Christopher Omal who is the Palabek Ogili sub-county LC3 Chairperson said they have embarked on a manhunt for a unknown assailant who threw the hand grenade on the hut.

Lamwo Resident District Commissioner, Geoffrey Oceng confirmed the incident and said an inquest into the matter has been opened.

Meanwhile, Police is yet to release a preliminary report on the matter.
