The Physical Planning team at Entebbe Municipal Division B has embarked on a sensitization drive in order to make way for the construction of a modern model village.
The Municipal division has earmarked Kiwafu West cell and Lugonjo Nakiwogo cell for the construction of the model village. The development is expected to start in the coming financial year 2022/2023 with establishment of a modern road network.
According to Dan Fred Lutaaya who is the Division B Town Clerk, they have started with the sensitization process in away of making awearnness of the implications associated with the plan, surveying the road networks.
Lutaaya also revealed that at least 264 residents will be affected during the implementation process of the model village project, and due to limited funding they will employ dialogue to amicably cushion the adverse impacts of the project.
“We are thankful to the Entebbe municipal council which is the planning authority with that matter for having this plan through and now here we are to put it into reality, he said. Let the community appreciate the value of the area based on the developments surrounding us including the Entebbe International Airport,” Lutaaya stated.
The Division Chairperson, Richard Ssekyondo said the model village is the right step towards the materialization of the Entebbe Smart City dream, and in turn will give a facelift to the City as a whole.
Entebbe municipality’s mission is to ensure sustainable service delivery to satisfaction of the people of Entebbe and it’s vision as being a model self sustaining municipality with a prosperous people by 2040.
