Byekwaso Laments Low Fitness Levels After Two Draws

KCCA head coach Morley Byekwaso blamed low fitness for the poor run that saw the side register two draws on a bounce.

This was said shortly after a one-all draw against Blacks Power in the Startimes Uganda Premier League encounter in Lira.

Before the stalemate, the Lugogo based side was held by Maroons still in a 1-1 stalemate at Lugogo.

“If you are vigilant enough, you will see that players are struggling to run with the ball or even take on opponents,” he told the club media.

“We have low fitness levels and this is a result of the month that we spent without playing competitive football hence affecting us negatively,” he added.

“We are a big team, we have been at the top of the log with chances to take the trophy. But it’s sad to see that we are dropping points in such a manner.”

However, the gaffer believes there is time to improve and the chase is still on and much achievable.

“I am confident that the players know the target and will keep going to see that we chase the trophy till the last day. We still believe in ourselves and am sure we shall come back,” he said.

According to the gaffer, they will do all it takes to see that they put right the team’s challenges as soon as possible.

The fitness levels will keep as a challenge, but Byekwaso confirmed that it will be dissolved in a little while.

The result kept KCCA in the second position with 37 points, three behind the log leaders SC Villa.

In the next encounter, KCCA will host UPDF FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday
