Kitende are the champions of the USSSA National Games for the 10th time.
This was after registering a 2-0 victory against St Andrew Kaggwa in the final game of the tournament played at Barifa Stadium, Arua.
St. Andrew Kaggwa stated the game the better side with well crafted passes which was received with praise from the crowds.
But the chants were shortlived after Elvis Ngonde tapped home Faizul Tumwine’s cross to place Kitende ahead.
As Kaggwa were trying to recover from thereon, Charles Lwanga’s beautiful volley found the back of the net beating custodian Noah Abang who had moved off his line.
This was the ninth trophy clinched by Kitende under the guidance of coach Edward Golola “The German.”
Kitende clinched the 10th USSSA National title after trumphing in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2019.
After a forceful two year break from school’s football due to the Covid-19 outbreak, it was action packed entertainment for two weeks in a Arua.
A total of 64 schools turned up for the biggest school tournament that was hosted by Mvara SS in Arua.

They finished the groups stages at the summit of Group A with 20 points with six wins and two stalemates while St. Andrew Kaggwa finished second in Group E with 13 points after four wins, a draw and a loss.
Kitende beat London College 2-1 at the Round of 16 before they ease past Mukono High School after a 4-0 well deserved victory.
In the semifinals, Kitende unconvincingly beat Kibuli 3-1 to book the first spot in the final.
On the other hand, St. Andrew Kaggwa registered a 2-0 win thanks to Oscar Mawa’s heroics.
In the classification game, Kibuli SS easily past Buddo SS after a 3-0 victory thanks to Allan Oyirwoth’s brace and Sharafara Mukiibi’s late finish.
