UCAA consider creating a Professional Football Club

Uganda Civil Aviation Authority Director General, Fred Bamwesigye said Monday they are exploring the possibility of having a professional football club in Uganda’s top tier leagues.

“We have been able to win several tournaments across the country, we have been clearing our way to the top. With the kind of enthusiasm brewing amongst the players and management its about time we went for the highest level of competition,” he said

“Our eyes are now turned to the Uganda Premier League and we will be there, management has taken it on board, we have received success along the way.” he added

Bamwesigye said this while receiving the winners trophy of the FUFA Corporate Tournament played on Sunday 8th May 2022 at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. UCAA beat Stanbic Bank 2-0 to engrave their name on this years trophy.

Team captain, Stephen Sserubiri attributed his teams triumphant victory to character and team work. ” Going to the elite level requires a lot of hard work, we have been doing that since. In order register success in sports requires finance. We are grateful that the team has been financed well over the years.” he said

UCAA’s Muhamood Mutebi was the tournament top scorer after netting thrice. Stanbic Bank Uganda finished 2nd and UMEME finished 3rd after beating BIDCO Uganda.
