A 15-year-old mother is currently held by the Territorial Police in Nansana in connection with the murder of her 6-weeks old son.
Shanita Nalumansi, a resident of Nansana East A 1 zone, Nansana Municipality is in custody for the alleged murder of her 6 weeks old son, Bogere Ezra last week Friday 11th November 2022.
According to facts gathered by Police, Nalumansi dropped out of school in Primary Seven after she was defiled and impregnated. After giving birth, her son Bogere Ezra, was rejected by the alleged father, who claimed he wanted DNA proof.
It is alleged that the suspect faked the disappearance of her son claiming she had left her on the veranda at around 1.30pm.
A search party would later be mounted by the local members of the community in vain and reported the matter to police. the disappearance of her son claiming she had left her on the veranda at around 1.30pm.
The scene was secured and the body of the victim retrieved on Saturday 12th November, 2022. Upon further interrogation, the teen mother admitted to have dumped her baby in the latrine, after he was rejected and she had failed to provide for him. It is a heart-breaking story of a poor child who was victimised by a poor biological teen mother.
Police is on the hunt for the alleged defiler and father to the Child victim, and a separate case file of Aggravated Defilement has been opened.
