SUPL: Bright Stars seeking to start the year on a high

Soltilo Bright Stars FC will be seeking for a great start with a victory after going six games without a win in the ongoing Star Times Uganda Premier League.

Simon Peter Mugerwa’s charges will be hosting SC Villa at Kavumba Recreational Grounds, Wakiso on Tuesday, December 4, 2022, on Matchday 14 of the term.

While speaking to the club media team during the pre-match press conference, Bright Stars captain Nelson Senkatuka underlined that the team will do all it takes to start the year with a win.

“The first game of the year is always crucial and winning it gives us the right momentum going forward,” Senkatuka revealed.

“We have prepared well as a team and this has helped us put the past (ugly) results behind us. We did not have the best results at the end of the year that is why we are working hard to see that we change the results around.”

“Starting with tomorrow’s game we are hopeful that we can pick up all three points. All points are important to us more so according to the position where we lie today.”

According to the goal poacher, the team is set to take the game heavily because it’s opening the year and gives them a chance to start a new chapter of better fortunes.

“We need to build the right momentum going forward in the new year. We shall fight to see that we put the right performance and make sure we come out victors,” he concluded.

Bright Stars FC have sofar collected seven points (four points and one win) from 12 games in the campaign.

In their last games, SC Villa bagged a 4-0 win against Tooro United while the hosts suffered a 0-5 loss to Police FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Emmanuel Loki and Warren Bule are both injured while Andy Kyambadde will also miss the game due to Fever.
