Several aspirants made processions after a successful nomination to contest for the position of Entebbe municipality MP on October 22, 2025.
Alongside the road at Katabi near the playground was filled with dancing supporters of the incumbent MP Michael Kakembo and the NRM flagbearer Stephen Shyaka Gashaija that only a car that was about to run out of fuel would dare turn to the Shell petrol station easily.
Other road users had to wait in traffic gridlock as young and energetic supporters in green and orange shirts (left side) and yellow shirts (right side) displayed campaign materials, driving recklessly and dancing on top of cars, while police officers stood by, seemingly unbothered.

The incumbent Entebbe Municipality MP, Michael Kakembo who is also the Democratic Front flagbearer asked the voters to entrust him with the second term to continue serving them.
“I have been tested and approved by my people. I have tried to lobby for my area and indeed Entebbe has been represented well,” he noted.
Stephen Shyaka Gashaija, the NRM flagbearer, pledged to implement his party’s manifesto promises.
“We shall deliver upon our manifesto, we are looking to support the youth, women, like the single mothers, fishermen making sure there’s some support for them, so that when they fish in the gestation period, they can have some money to be able to do,” he said.

In addition, Shyaka explained that they are looking at handling and supervising the hospitals, supervising to ensure that the mayorship position and all the chairpersons deliver according to the manifesto, do the roads, do the markets.
“Our job is to supervise as Members of Parliament. Therefore, I call upon you to come and support the National Resistance Movement (NRM), come and vote for the president and all the flag bearers in the interim,” he concluded.
Joyce Nabatta, the NUP flagbearer, asked the public, especially the youth, to advocate for change while voting for all NUP candidates as they look forward to a new Uganda.

Other candidates who were fully nominated include the former Entebbe Municipality Mayor Vincent De Paul Kayanja, the DP flagbearer and Irene Nantumbwe.
The nomination marks the start of a competitive race as candidates prepare for the campaign period next month.
