Nigeria registered a second win in the African Cup of Nations after 3-1 win against Sudan on Saturday evening.
Samuel Chukwueze, Taiwo Awoniyi and Moses Simon gave Nigeria the bragging rights before Waleildin Khidir pulled back one for Sudan.
Nigeria had a great electric start taking the lead through Samuel Chukwueze after three into the game.
Wilfred Ndidi nearly extended with an emphatic shot that parried off the woodwork after meeting a loose ball in the area.
With four minutes to conclude the first stanza, Joe Aribo met a cross in the ball but his effort missed the target by a few inches.
At the death of first half, Taiwo Awoniyi extended Nigeria’s lead with a powerful header into the back of the net.
After the break, Moses Simon found himself in the right position and beat the custodian with a low pass in the back of the net.
In the 70th minute, Waleildin Khidir gave Sudan a consolation goal from the penalty spot after beating Nigeria’s goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
Five minutes later, Awoniyi nearly found a brace but his shot went wide past the left post.
The result means Nigeria joins the likes of Cameroon and Morocco who reached the last sixteen after earning maximum points from the first two games.
