UCSATP on the move to assessing readiness for implementation of matching grants and farmer field schools

Uganda Climate-Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP) is conducting a joint technical mission with the World Bank team on matching grants and farmer field schools at the National Agricultural Research Laboratories in Kawanda, Wakiso District.

The main objective of the mission is to assess the readiness for implementation of matching grants and support the preparation for piloting the farmer field schools approach under the project.

Presentations on the current status of project implementation, matching grants implementation arrangements for the crop value chain, fisheries value chain, livestock value chain and beneficial insects are being made by their respective leaders for discussions.

From Wednesday, 3rd to 10th September 2025, the team will be visiting some of the selected Districts for matching grants, starting with Bududa and Mayuge Districts.

At the Districts, the team will hold meetings with leadership and members of all profiled and trained farmer groups for the four selected value chains, selected farmer field schools and district leaders.

A final report with the findings, followed with discussions on agreed actions will mark the end of the mission on Friday 12th September, 2025.
