He was welcomed by Amos Wekesa, the chief organiser of Rwenzori marathon and Herman Olimi, the marketing officer under Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).

Regarding the marathon, he lauded Wekesa and the rest of the organising team, saying events like the Rwenzori marathon are so important in showcasing Uganda internationally.

“It’s genuinely an honour to be back. We need to showcase Rwenzori, we need to showcase the marathon, as well as this brilliant country. I love it here,” the British Commentator said.

According to Wekesa, the accommodation facilities in Kasese are fully booked whereas those in the adjacent Fort Portal city are booked up to 75% capacity courtesy of the Rwenzori marathon.

“It’s a good opportunity for the western part of Uganda. Many countries are going to be represented, as you can see they have already started arriving. We’re in good hands, Ugandans are excited and I know that we are going to have many leaving Kampala going to Kasese to enjoy themselves,” he said.

Other influencers that are expected to take part in the marathon include, Sean Hammond from the USA, Nicholas Butter from the UK and Angus Maxified from Dubai.
