3 people injured after Armed Robbers invade Home

The Kampala Metropolitan Police East and Mukono Divisional Police are investigating circumstances under which six armed thugs attacked a home in Mukono, injured 3 people and made away with property worth millions of shillings on 25th June 2022.

The thugs attacked the home located at Canan Site, Estates 11, Namubiru Ward, Mukono Municipality at around 9:30 pm and injured Goretti Katasha, a 29-year-old cashier at Regal Paints (U) Ltd who had walked out of the house to lock the small gate and found these already camping around the house.

According to the Uganda Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga, the thugs robbed cash Ugx 100,000, 5 smart mobile phones, laptop, flat Tv screen and a motor vehicle Spacio, while in colour, under registration number UAZ283X and immediately drove away from the scene.

The other two injured victims were identified as Deborah Natumanya, a 29-year-old female adult and Tukashaba Paul, a 39-year-old staff of Uganda Railway and these were rushed to IMC hospital in Mukono with injuries to the head, hands and legs.

This comes days after thugs attacked and injured a super market cashier in Mukono. It is upon this that police have urged the public to take extra care when inside their homes and make possible efforts to notify police about any suspicious actions of people outside the house or in the compound.

“It is therefore important to always remain vigilant and practice safety measures. While inside the house further ensure all gates, doors and windows are effectively closed, constantly monitor any form of invasion in the compound, never hesitate to call the police, to report suspicious actions of people outside the house or in the compound. What is discouraging is that one of the immediate neighbors saw what was happening and did not reach by alerting the police or other local politicians”

Enanga further noted that the task teams are aggressively building on leads gathered, surrounding the suspects, and will ensure the culprits are identified and brought to book.
